Cincinnati Banks Parking Guidance Installation

The Cincinnati Banks Central Parking Guidance System (PGS) Installation, launched in 2024, marks a significant advancement in parking management technology in the heart of downtown Cincinnati, Ohio. This ambitious project, located along the riverbank between PayCor Stadium (home of the Bengals) and the Great American Ballpark (home of the Cincinnati Reds), was contracted by Cincinnati Banks Central and executed by Task Force Services. The core objective was to implement a comprehensive and real-time parking monitoring system that could efficiently manage over 5,000 parking spaces within a network of large parking garages.
This state-of-the-art installation utilizes the TKH PartAssist PGS sensors and devices, designed to optimize the parking experience for both users and facility managers by providing real-time data on space occupancy. The installation also integrates a wide range of complementary technologies, including advanced camera systems, communication networks, and interactive signage, which enhance the functionality and efficiency of the parking infrastructure.
Project Scope:
The Cincinnati Banks Parking Guidance System (PGS) Installation encompasses a wide range of technology implementations designed to monitor, manage, and optimize the utilization of parking spaces across the five garages. The following elements highlight the complexity and scale of the project:
- Camera-Based Parking Guidance System (PGS):
- Over 5,000 parking spaces monitored in real-time using advanced camera-based sensors.
- Installation of 972 Cameras, including Counting and License Plate Recognition (LPR) cameras, to accurately track vehicle occupancy and provide actionable data for both drivers and operators.
- Camera Mounting and Track Installation:
- A total of 32,000 linear feet of camera mounting track was installed to securely house and position the cameras, ensuring optimal coverage and performance across the entire facility.
- Communication and Networking Infrastructure:
- 40,000 linear feet of communication cabling was routed throughout the parking garages to facilitate seamless connectivity between devices, controllers, and cameras.
- Task Force Services installed all the necessary rigid conduit for inter-track communication, ensuring a secure and organized setup for efficient data transmission.
- Controllers and Power Systems:
- The project required the installation of 26 Power Cabinets/Controllers that act as the central hubs for managing system operations and data flow across the parking facilities.
- Variable Message Signage (VMS):
- 62 VMS Directional Signs were installed to provide clear, real-time directional information to drivers, optimizing parking flow and reducing congestion.
- TIBA PARCS Technology Integration:
- The integration of TIBA PARCS (Parking Access and Revenue Control System) technology enabled enhanced revenue management and automated parking access control, further improving the overall parking experience.
Benefits of the Cincinnati Banks PGS Project:
- Real-Time Data & Parking Management:
- The installation of cameras and advanced sensors ensures that parking space utilization can be monitored in real-time. This data helps facility operators understand parking patterns, optimize space usage, and reduce the time drivers spend searching for available spots.
- Enhanced User Experience:
- Drivers benefit from intuitive, real-time updates provided by the VMS signs and LPR cameras. This means less time spent looking for parking and a more seamless entry/exit experience.
- Operational Efficiency:
- With over 5,000 parking spaces under constant surveillance and real-time data being processed, parking managers can make informed decisions on traffic flow, maintenance needs, and overall system performance.
- Revenue Optimization:
- The integration of the TIBA PARCS system improves revenue management by automating access control and payment systems, minimizing errors and operational overhead.
- Scalability & Future-Proofing:
- The system is designed to scale, allowing for future expansion or upgrades as technology evolves. The flexible infrastructure also supports potential integration with other smart city initiatives, further enhancing its value.
Technological Partners:
This project was powered by collaboration between Task Force Services and leading industry technologies, including TKH PartAssist, TIBA PARCS, and VMS signage systems. Task Force Services’ expertise in system integration and their robust support for communication and infrastructure made them the ideal partner for this large-scale project.
