Position Summary
Task Force Services is seeking an experienced and motivated Parking Equipment Installation Technician Lead to join our growing team. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing field installation projects while actively working alongside the installation crew. This is not a Project Manager position; the successful candidate will lead by example, perform installation work, ensure project quality, and keep projects on schedule.
The ideal candidate will possess experience with parking access and revenue control systems (PARCS), access control equipment, or related technologies, along with a strong general construction background. This individual must be highly organized, solutions-oriented, and comfortable traveling extensively throughout the United States.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership & Project Execution
- Serve as the on-site lead for installation projects and field personnel.
- Review project scope, drawings, specifications, and schedules prior to mobilization.
- Determine the required tools, materials, equipment, and resources needed for successful project completion, and if driving, ensure all resources are loaded onto the company vehicle from the home office. If flying, ensure all resources needed will be on-site or can be purchased locally prior to beginning the project.
- Coordinate daily work activities and ensure projects remain on schedule and within scope.
- Maintain high-quality workmanship and ensure all installations meet company standards and customer expectations.
- Communicate effectively with company leadership regarding project status, challenges, and solutions.
- Identify and resolve field issues while maintaining project timelines.
- Conduct job site safety meetings and ensure compliance with company safety policies.
Installation & Construction Responsibilities
- Install, assemble, and configure parking equipment and access control systems.
- Perform gate operator, ticket dispenser, pay station, bollard, and related equipment installations.
- Install conduit, pull wire, and route low-voltage and communication cabling.
- Perform concrete forming, pouring, and placement along with concrete saw cutting, excavation, and preparation. Read and interpret blueprints, site plans, wiring diagrams, and installation drawings.
- Troubleshoot installation issues and perform field modifications as necessary.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely and efficiently.
- Complete project documentation, punch lists, photograph uploads, and installation reports accurately.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience installing parking equipment, access control systems, gate systems, or related technologies.
- Previous experience leading field crews or serving as a lead technician.
- Previous experience with concrete prepping, pouring, and forming.
- Previous experience bending and installing conduit, and pulling low-voltage and comm wire.
- Ability to understand and install basic electrical power, wiring, and circuits.
- Strong understanding of general construction practices and job site safety.
- Ability to travel extensively throughout the United States.
- Ability to travel by commercial airline regularly.
- Must be at least 25 years of age due to company vehicle, rental vehicle, and insurance requirements.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check and routine drug screening.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional demeanor, including a customer-focused attitude and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and highly organized.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with networking, IP-based devices, and equipment configuration.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Forklift, aerial lift, or equipment operation experience.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, and work in various weather conditions.
- Ability to work on construction sites, parking facilities, and active commercial environments.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and construction equipment.
